Harley Davidson is one of the classic names in motorbiking, if not the classic name at least in the popular imagination.

It should come as no surprise to learn that this particular piece was commissioned by the proud owner of a Harley Davidson.

Rather than produce an obvious portrait of the bike, I decided to disrupt the image as part of an irregular mosaic.

The viewer reassembles the parts in his mind's eye, using his own powers of suggestion.

In effect the motorbike is both there and not there.

The inclusion of the swooping swallows is an oblique reference to this household's semi-rural setting
