Moorish Door

The setting for this piece was a thatched summer house looking out onto a terraced garden.

Using reminiscences of the formal elegance of the Alhambra, visited over 20 years earlier my aim was to use a rich blue background so as to provide a cool and dreamlike retreat from the summer's heat.
